Ring Size Guide – How to Measure Your Size

Measure Your Circumference

Circumference is the measurement around the base of the finger

You'll need:

  • A strip of paper (approx. 5mm wide) or a piece of string
  • Pencil to mark the paper / string
  • Ruler to measure your circumference

Step 1:

Cut a long strip of paper or string.
Wrap it around the base of desired finger. For the most accurate result, pull it snug but not uncomfortably tight.

Step 2:

Make sure the paper / string is evenly overlapped, pulled snug (not tight), and mark where the strip of paper / string meets itself.

Step 3:

Measure the length of the paper / string in millimetres. Round to the closest whole millimetre.

Ring Sizing Tips: Because Nobody Wants a Finger Tourniquet

Choosing Your Ring Size

Wondering how a ring should fit? Fear not—we’ve got you covered (unlike a too-tight ring). Pick the size based on the largest finger you’ll be wearing the ring on (no cheating, now). Measure to the nearest whole millimetre and aim for a fit that’s snug enough to stay put but loose enough to escape your knuckle without a tug-of-war.

Timing is Everything

Fingers are fickle little things—they swell when it’s hot, shrink when it’s cold, and basically have moods. Heat, cold, salty snacks, and even hydration levels can make them swell or shrink. That’s why we recommend measuring at different times of day to catch your finger at its most average (because nobody wants a ring that only fits at 2 a.m.).

When in Doubt, Size Up

Let’s be real: A ring that’s too small is a one-way ticket to Stuck Finger City. If you’re between sizes, go bigger. Your future self (and your knuckles) will thank you.

Wide Band? Think Bigger

Chunky rings need breathing room. If you’re eyeing a wide band, bump up a size, because nobody wants to perform a ring extraction with soap and prayer.

Secret Agent Mode: Finding Someone Else’s Ring Size

Want to surprise your favourite human with a ring? Here’s how to sleuth their size without blowing your cover.

1. Play Jewellery Detective

Snoop through their jewellery box (for science, obviously). Measure the inside of their favourite rings with a ruler, and voilà - you’ve got their size (and possibly a new hobby as a jewellery spy).

2. The Midnight String Heist

For a Mission: Impossible-style move, wrap a piece of string around their finger while they’re asleep. Mark where it meets, then measure or take it to a jeweller. (Disclaimer: If they wake up, you’re on your own.)

3. Recruit Their Friends

Casually suggest they try on a pal’s ring. If they bite, you’ve got your intel. If not, well… back to the string method.

There you go—ring sizing, made easy(ish). Now go forth and accessorise without the drama.
